About

Kenrick Ho (b. 1997) is a researcher-composer based in Hong Kong. His primary interests are broadly concerned with the embodiment of sound, often explored through foregrounding the role of the body in his compositional practice.

These explorations take many forms, ranging from solo or chamber works, to electroacoustic music and audio-visual installations. His music has been commissioned and performed worldwide, including in Hong Kong, UK, US, France, Italy, Austria, Germany, and Thailand.

His collaborators include Tacet(i) Ensemble, Hong Kong New Music Ensemble, Ensemble Linea, PPCM-Graz, Aktapha Ensemble, Lotte Betts-Dean, Stephanie Lamprea, Mira Benjamin, Heather Roche, Brian Archinal, Gunnhildur Einarsdóttir, and Seth Josel.

Kenrick has obtained a PhD in composition at the University of Leeds, studying under the co-supervision of Martin Iddon and Freya Bailes. Beyond his degree, he has also received tuition from Jürg Frey, Klaus Lang, Malin Bång, Toshio Hosokawa, Rebecca Saunders, George Aperghis, and Ken Ueno.

Kenrick was formerly Associate Lecturer in Music and Audio Technology at the University of Plymouth, and now works as a music curator in Hong Kong.
